Here at Big White Farmhouse, we love giving gifts. Thankfully, a gift doesn't need to be expensive to be thoughtful and well received. We have lots of ideas for ways to share the love with others, so you can expect this as a regular feature here on the blog.
Today's idea is an easy one and can be used in so many situations! Here are a few ideas:
This banana bread recipe is one of my favorites. I love that it only uses one bowl - easy cleanup!
One Bowl Banana Bread - makes 1 loaf
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil (I used coconut oil)
2 large eggs
3 large bananas, very ripe
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat the oven to 375. Coat a loaf pan with cooking spray (I used coconut oil) and set aside.
In a large bowl, add all of the ingredients one at a time, mixing well after each addition with a wire whisk. Pour mixture into the loaf pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes. (For my oven, I bake for 45 minutes, then cover loosely with foil and bake another 10 minutes.)
To package for gift-giving, let cool completely. I wrapped my bread in waxed paper and taped closed. Then simply wrap with a tea towel, tie with ribbon or twine and you are ready to give!
Be sure to check out the tea towels in our shop! They are 15% off until January 31, 2014.
Do you have any favorite quick bread recipes? I'd love to hear about them!
